Blake Lawson
‘I was born in Dubbo into a large family, having 13 siblings and growing up in Bylong, Mudgee and Bathurst. I am a proud Wiradjuri man with two beautiful daughters and an amazing wife.
Rugby league is one of my passions outside of my family and work. I am very passionate about my Rugby league club, Bathurst Panthers. Winning with your mates is truly one of the best and most nostalgic moments and I am very grateful to be able to do that.
Yindyamarra Care for me is a build up of a lifetime of wanting to be able to help others and in particular supporting people with disabilities. I have been within the industry since I left high school, starting as disability support worker. I have had many titles and positions but the common theme with all of these jobs is that they are all about helping others whether it has been as a disability support worker, Youth support worker, School learning support officer or Aboriginal education officer! All I have wanted to do is be able to help those around me.
My culture has a massive influence on Adam and I as people and that’s why we used Wiradjuri Language and art with our company’s name “Yindyamarra Care”. The meaning of Yindyamarra ‘respect, be kind, be polite, to do slowly’ is a reflection of the services we will provide all of the time with this being instilled as our core values.’

‘I’m Adam Lawson, I’m the 7th eldest out of 13 siblings and I looked up to my eldest brother Shane, who is one of my biggest inspirations for working in the disability sector and to creating our company.
I am happily married to my beautiful wife Erica and have 2 amazing boys Henry and William. I enjoy spending time with friends and family going fishing, camping and exploring.
I worked as a chef for 14 years but it never rewarded me like my work does today.
I got my first opportunity 3 year ago to change careers from being a chef to a support worker and I haven’t looked back.
I love all kinds of sports and love both playing and watching them. I’m a crazy bulldogs fan and also enjoy watching the Bathurst panthers football team, and cheering them on.
I recently retired from playing soccer, for the Panorama goats. I have the chance to save some amazing goals which landed us in the grand final and we won!
Being around sports and sporting clubs is what brought up the idea to create an all inclusive summer soccer comp for all abilities. I believe all people deserve the opportunity to do the things that they want to do!’
